Stayflex Systems

Stayflex

Stayflex System Design - Example: Structural Steel

A 1/4"-1" Staycell provides a resilient interlayer to accommodate expansion and contraction.
B 1/16" Stayflex protective surface.

*Thickness and low permeability of Staycell and Stayflex minimize air, oxygen, chemical fumes and water vapors from reaching steal.

Stayflex Systems provides cutting-edge, multifunctional solutions to a wide variety of corrosion, thermal insulation and environmental problems. Primary use is in new construction and renovation in food processing and industrial facilities having chemically strong or wet environments.

Stayflex Systems are spray-applied as two-layer composites in 1/4"-6" thickness. Staycell cellular polyurethane is first applied to provide highly efficient thermal insulation (R 6.5 per inch) or a strong base for encasement with Stayflex fireproofing polymer. Stayflex is similar to "fiberglass" boats and gasoline storage tanks and provides a durable, chemically-resistant, water and vapor barrier.

Stayflex Systems are suitable for interior and exterior applications, have 20 year case histories, are U.S.D.A. approved and are available in a wide variety of colors.

The excellent fire ratings of Stayflex Systems provide compliance with building code and insurance requirements throughout North America.

Benefits:

  • High R-value dramatically improves energy efficiency
  • Monolithic, fully adhered system fills all joints & gaps. Oak Ridge National Laboratory study estimates 30-50% of heat loss is attributed to air leakage
  • Controls condensation & mold growth, which can lead to building deterioration
  • Significantly strengthens building, improving racking and wind uplift resistance
  • HVAC equipment can be downsized, lowering initial construction costs
  • Contributes LEED credits for green construction

Some typical Applications:

  • Ceilings
  • Metal flooring & roof decking
  • Structural Steel
  • Miscellaneous steel & masonry surfaces
  • Elevator shafts
  • Storage tanks & boilers
  • Ductwork & piping
